Ways To Find More Customers For Your Business Without Spending Any Money- Youngprenuer

Every marketing budget doesn’t have to be extravagant. While many businesses spend large sums ranging in millions of Naira on promoting their products and services, a few others spend next to nothing and achieve almost the same results or even better. A lot of businesses put in a lot of marketing efforts to find more customers for their businesses.

If you don’t have the budget most large businesses do, there are several other ways to find customers for your business without spending any cash, or spending as little as possible.
1.Take Advantage Of Online Communities & Market PlacesOne great way to find more customers for your business is to take advantage of online communities and market places. Online communities like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Nairaland, and a few others are a great way for businesses to sell their merchandise. You can start a Facebook page and ask your friends to share your product posts, so it can get a wider outreach. You could also do the same with Twitter, and Instagram. As you grow a loyal follower base on social media, you can always be re-marketing to your followers without spending any cash.
You can also patronize online marketplaces like Jumia, Konga, OLX, and a lot more to sell your merchandise. Doing this, you don’t pay any sign up costs. You only get charged a percentage fee whenever you have a successful sale.
Taking advantage of online communities and marketplaces is a free way to get more customers and sell more products without spending on marketing.
2. Offer Customers Incentives To Share Your BusinessTo provide incentives to your customers, you could offer them an exciting bonus product or service for every new customer they bring to patronise your business. For example, Swift Networks in Nigeria incentivized their customers by offering a free one month internet connection service for every new customer they refer to Swift that finally makes a purchase.
Many businesses can leverage on the power of incentives to find new customers for their businesses.
3. Do GiveawaysThere’s nothing more exciting than free stuff! People would do anything to get a product or service for free, especially when you’re announcing a massive giveaway. One way to get more customers to use your products and services is to first offer it to them for free.
Give them a taste of it. If what you’re offering is really good, some will come back to buy the full product or service. An example of these are SaaS solutions that offer you a free 14 day trial. Since you know you could use the service for 14 days without paying, you’d be motivated to try it out. When you eventually decide that you truly need the service, you can subscribe for the full solution. This has really helped a lot of businesses boost their customers base.
4. Leverage Your Existing NetworksThis involves taking advantage of your friends, family, partners, co-workers, and more to get more sales leads. Try to provide your products and/or services to those of them that need it, and have them introduce you to people they know that may also need what you’re offering. By doing this, you could have your immediate networks help you find more customers for your business.
5. Offer Discounts & DealsPeople love a good old deal. For instance, e-commerce businesses could pair up two products, slash their total prices, and offer them for sale. This strategy would get even passer-bye’s attentions, and prompt a bunch of them to take advantage of the deal as a first purchase. People love wonderful and unbelievable discounts. Offering mouth watery deals would help you find more customers faster than you imagined

CBN introduces special intervention fund for microfinance banks

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has introduced a special intervention fund for microfinance banks (MFBs) in the country, even as it assured that it will soon issue a new MFB policy.

Meanwhile the apex bank said it aims to increase the share of micro credit as percentage of total credit to at least 20 percent by 2020 from the current ratio of five percent.
CBN Governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, disclosed this in a keynote address delivered at the just concluded seminar organised by the apex bank for finance correspondents and business editors held in Gombe State.

Central Bank of Nigeria head office in AbujaEmefiele said that while the apex bank recognises the challenges of the MFBs, it is also aware of their contributions to extending credit to the economically active poor.
He said: “Data from the licensed credit bureaus indicate that the operations of microfinance banks have helped to improve financial inclusion amongst smallholder peasant farmers, artisans and other small business operators. As at December 2018, aggregate loans granted by MFBs was N482.896 billion.
Of this amount loan sizes below N 1.4 million accounted for 72 percent. We equally observed that small businesses have been more successful in securing credit from the microfinance institutions rather than conventional deposit money banks (DMBs).
“There are challenges, nevertheless. They include; inadequate spread in the location of the MFBs in relation to their target beneficiaries, demand for immoveable collaterals for loans, high interest rate, and absence of a credit reporting system. We are committed and working assiduously to address these limitations.” Reiterating the apex bank commitment to increasing access to financial services for the economically active poor, Emefiele said: “The target is to increase the share of micro credit as percentage of total credit to at least 20 percent by 2020. “The bank remains committed to the economic empowerment of disadvantaged groups including women and actively seeks to achieve this through the instrumentality of microfinance amongst other initiatives.”
Speaking earlier in a presentation on entitled, “Appraisal of the new microfinance policy framework,” Director, Other Financial Institutions Supervision Department, CBN, Mrs. Tokunbo Martins disclosed that the apex bank has introduced a special intervention fund for MFBs adding that the CBN is currently reviewing the microfinance bank policy with the aim of releasing the third edition of the policy which was first introduced in 2005.
Lamenting the poor performance of MFBs in deposit mobilisation, Martins said: “The CBN   has approved a special intervention framework for qualified micro finance banks and our hope is that it will incentivise other microfinance banks to get their house in order so they can also qualify to access these funds.
The CBN is working tirelessly so that the banks that are doing well can grow and multiply.” Speaking further, Martins said that, “The SMEs are making great contributions to the   gross domestic product (GDP)  but they don’t have access to credit such that would boost their operations in the massive way needed by the economy. “We have had two earlier Microfinance Policy Frameworks: in 2005, 2011 and the current one.” Related CBN’s parallel National MfB against microfinance principles – Operators MICROFINANCE Bank, MfB, operators have condemned plans by Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, to establish National Microfinance Bank, saying it is against one of the principles establishing the industry.
Also, the operators challenged the CBN to make public, names of MfBs who secured the intervention funds and defaulted.
December 23, 2018 MFB operators hope for better fortunes in 2011 Notwithstanding the challenges that bedevilled the microfinance bank industry in 2010, microfinance banks’ operators are optimistic that 2011 would be a year filled with better business opportunities as a result of the reforms by the regulatory bodies.
